Somatic Self Care Strategies for Therapists: Build a Life with More Balance & Joy

About this course

Therapists in private practice, and specifically therapists who are also mothers, face a multitude of stressors that impact their sense of wellbeing. In this training we will identify the top three stressors impacting therapists in private practice and the barriers that prevent therapists from engaging in self care strategies. During the presentation, we will practice somatic and body-focused techniques to help reduce stress and improve therapist wellbeing. These embodied and experiential activities are practical strategies to support therapists to build a life with more balance and joy.

  • Identify the 3 biggest sources of stress for therapists in private practice.
  • Explore the barriers that prevent therapists from regulary engaging in self care strategies.
  • Demonstrate 3 exercises that can be used to decrease stress and increase therapist wellbeing.

This educational activity is intended for behavioral health professionals, including Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, and MFT's who are also mothers.

Course Instructor(s)

  • Steffeny Feld, LCSW

    Steffeny Feld is an EMDR Certified Therapist, Consultant, Copywriter, and the Creator of the Intensive Design Lab where she supports therapists of all backgrounds and modalities to launch therapy intensives in private practice. Steffeny believes that therapy intensives are powerful and transformative for clients and the clinicians who offer them. She supports therapists to bring intensives into their practice so that they can work less and earn more while helping clients heal. Steffeny lives in St Louis, Missouri with her partner and 4 year old son, Felix.
